If you don't know me...apparently you should. In 2021 according to the Kansas City Business Journal, I am one of 20 People to Know in Commercial Real Estate. I am in fact one of Kansas City's newest Commercial Developers. I am also an unabashedly, unapologetic Black Woman. My intentions are clear, I have not only broken into this space, but I will make sure that there is room for other Black Women to join me. "Winning" is not a finite commodity that needs to be gate-kept or obstructed. We can ALL win ... and we will ALL win together.
Several women who aspire to become commercial developers have reached out for advice and information on how I started and what steps they can take. I have no intention that the lessons I have learned and those yet to come need to be shared in secret. I intend to share my work while I advance towards my life's goal. As we build a community, I look forward to an engaging think tank of folks with similar interests.
My blog's purpose is to build a community around commercial & residential development and Black Women crashing through closed doors. I will share the journey of my current projects. When I win, or when I learn a lesson.
This is my first ever blog on any topic in the whole wide world. This is all a little scary, but here we go. So, feel free to join me on this journey and evolution. The sole takeaway and invitation I extend is:
We All Win Together!
